Call for Proposals - DUE April 30, 2009
PROPOSALS ARE NO LONGER BEING ACCEPTED FOR 2009

The conference committee is inviting proposals for innovative or engaging approaches to the teaching of psychology to be presented in workshop sessions or as roundtable discussions. Because the focus of our conference is on engaging and hands-on teaching, we encourage presenters to make their workshops or discussions less of a formal “presentation” and more of an actual workshop in which participants are encouraged to interact and do something active rather than listen passively.

Both workshops and roundtables will be one hour sessions with about 15-30 participants. A workshop should teach the participants a new approach or skill for teaching particular psychology content or psychology in general, whereas a roundtable discussion should introduce a topic for discussion amongst the participants with the presenter serving as a moderator.

Proposals should include the following information:
  1. Title & Format: workshop or roundtable discussion
  2. A summary of the presentation (from 1 paragraph to 1 page), including specific plans for the active involvement of participants
  3. The presenter(s) name, affiliation, and email address
Please submit proposals by April 30, 2009 via electronic mail to Dr. Richard Gorman or snail-mail to:
