10549 Universe Blvd NW; Albuquerque, NM 87114

The West side campus of CNM is in the far NW corner of Albuquerque (and Bernalillo county. The major streets crossroads are (west) Paseo del Norte and (north) Unser Blvd.

PARKING ON CAMPUS IS FREE in Designated Visitor Spots!

Engage and enjoy!

Hiking near the CNM Westside campus:
I. Albuquerque Volcanoes - The Three Sisters
The directions you get online are way out of the way. Instead go just south of campus on Universe Blvd NW. Then take Paseo Del Norte Blvd west (to the right if going south on Universe).  If you take Paseo Del Norte Blvd westbound it eventually becomes Atrisco Vista Blvd which is the road that runs along the backside of the volcanoes w/access. The volcanoes will be visible on the left/south and you take a road to them.  There are toilet pits, but no water. Please remember plenty of water, sunscreen, sunglasses, and bug spray (light jacket?, hat?). These are some of the best views you'll find of Albuquerque and the Rio Grande valley are from the volcanos, but there are no petroglyphs in this part of the park.

II. Piedras Marcadas Canyon Trail
This is a nice hike close to the CNM Westside campus to see some petroglyphs -
Go just south of campus on Universe Blvd NW. Then go east (take a left at the light if you are going south on Universe) at Paradise Blvd NW and continue past Unser to Golf Course Road NW.  Take a right at Golf Course Road NW and then another right pretty quickly at Jill Patricia St NW (then a quick right and quick left – see the map at the nps.gov link below). You'll see Sonic ... Jill Patricia is also by a small shopping center and enters a subdivision. Just behind the Shopping Center you should see a parking area on the right for the Petroglyph National Monument. Park and head into the Monument. You'll be going between Subdivisions at first. Please remember plenty of water, sunscreen, sunglasses, and bug spray (light jacket?, hat?). No toilet pits, but near businesses with services.
